The Treasury is our seasonal student-produced magazine. It is a dedicated opportunity for youth ages 12 to 17 to develop their writing, creativity, and leadership through real publication.
The Curator Class operates exclusively in the summer and winter. Each season produces a new volume of The Treasury. A selected group of students works together to curate and publish that edition from start to finish.
The Treasury is symbolic of New York City, a place where so many stories unfold every day. NYC is layered, expressive, fast-moving, creative, and diverse. In the same way, this magazine captures moments, perspectives, and voices that reflect what is happening around us. Students are not separated from the city. They are observers, participants, and storytellers within it.
Participants will receive:
• Small-group writing instruction
• Individualized 1:1 writing support and detailed feedback
• Exploration of meaningful topics and lived experiences
• Exclusive trips across New York City designed to spark creativity and deepen awareness
• Hands-on experience in editing, layout, design, and publication
• Creative license within a structured editorial process
Students will not simply contribute content. They will help shape the direction of the magazine, revise with purpose, collaborate intentionally, and experience what it means to document the world around them in a lasting way.
